Retired police officer charged with 1960s sex attack

An ex-police officer from Essex has been charged with two counts of indecent assault against a 16-year-old girl in the 1960s.

James Walter Reginald Miller, 84, of Marks Avenue, Ongar, joined the City of London Police in 1955 and retired in 1985 at the rank of sergeant.

The charges against him relate to the time period of 1966 to 1968, City of London Police said.

Mr Miller will appear at City of London Magistrates' Court on 20 August.
