Thurrock explosion: Man treated for inhaling chemical

A man has been treated for inhaling a chemical following an explosion in Essex.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered an industrial plant on Stoneness Road, Thurrock, at about 09:00 BST after an explosion in a machine.

A chemical, thought to be chlorine, leaked but did not cause a fire.

Essex Fire Service said there had been no risk to anybody in the surrounding area.

The man was treated by paramedics.
