A 23-year-old man who raped an 18-year-old woman while she walked home from a night out in Basildon has been jailed.

Curtis Pizzey, of Barnard Close, Basildon, was sentenced to three years at Basildon Crown Court after pleading guilty to the attack on 14 May.

Pizzey was also put under a licence for a further six years and received a 15-year sexual offences prevention order.

Police said the victim was attacked on Cranes Farm Road after being out with friends at the Festival Leisure Park.
