An aircraft claimed to be the largest registered in the UK has landed in Essex to begin a five-year contract flying cargo around the world.

The new Boeing 747-8F was already painted in the British Airways livery when it flew directly into Stansted Airport from the factory at Seattle.

It will fly to destinations across the world from its base at Stansted, an airport spokesman said.

It is the first of three aircraft on order to arrive, British Airways said.
