Three men charged over Essex assault

Three men have been charged over a Christmas Day attack which left an Essex man with a serious head injury.

The 26-year-old victim, from Colchester, was left unconscious during an incident outside The Ship Inn in Walton Road, Kirby Le Soken.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm, racially or religiously aggravated provocation of violence and common assault.

Two men aged 19 and 20 are charged with common assault.

They have all been bailed to appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court on 17 March.

Two other men needed hospital treatment for minor injuries suffered in the incident.
