Charges over stabbing in Rayleigh

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a 51-year-old man who was stabbed in the chest in Essex last year.

The incident happened on the A127 Arterial Road in Rayleigh on 5 November.

Philip Huzzey, 46, from Crickhollow in South Woodham Ferrers was arrested last year and has been charged in connection with the incident.

He will appear before Southend Magistrates' Court later.

Update 26 June 2014: Mr Huzzey pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempted murder and was acquitted by a jury in January 2012, following a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
