DNA identifies Essex car crash couple

A husband and wife who died when their car hit a bridge in Essex almost two months ago have been formally identified following DNA testing.

Andrew Smith, 48, and 44-year-old Sharon Smith, of Holland Road, Clacton, died on the A120 at Elmstead in the early hours of 28 November.

The crash happened just before the A133 Clacton turn-off.

A report will be submitted to the coroner and an inquest will be held in due course, a police spokesman said.
