Husband and wife die in bridge crash fire in Essex

A husband and wife from Clacton in Essex have died after a car hit a bridge and caught fire.

Fire crews were called to the Bromley Road bridge on the A120, east of Ardleigh, Essex, in the early hours of the morning.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire and used cutting equipment to remove the bodies from the car.

An Essex Police spokeswoman said only one car appeared to be involved in the crash.
