Robber sprays worker in face at Essex services
A robber raiding a BP garage in Essex has sprayed a member of staff in the face with an unknown substance.
The man confronted the worker outside Boreham services in Chelmsford at about 2210 BST on Friday and said he had a gun.
The 42-year-old member of staff opened the safe and was sprayed in the face with an unknown substance as the robber made off with thousands of pounds.
He was taken to hospital where he was treated and later discharged.
The robber has been described as wearing a yellow high visibility jacket, light coloured bottoms and a blue baseball cap.
He was about 6ft (1.8m) tall, of mixed heritage and holding a carrier bag which contained a handgun.
