Taxi driver appeal in Braintree rape inquiry

A taxi driver who may have information about the rape of a woman is Essex has been urged to contact police.

The driver picked up a man and woman from outside Braintree Town Hall between 0200 and 0300 BST on 28 August and took them to the Bocking Churchstreet area.

The driver is described as being an older man and was driving a dark blue or silver estate car.

The man or anyone who recognises him is asked to contact police.

A 28-year-old man was arrested and later released on bail until 20 October while inquiries continue.
