Two held after woman seriously injured in Bournemouth

A woman has suffered life-threatening head injuries in an alleged assault in Bournemouth.

The woman in her 20s is reported to have been attacked at a house in Shelbourne Road late on Tuesday before making her way to a convenience store.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 58-year-old man is being held on suspicion of wounding with intent.

The house in Sherlbourne Road remains cordoned off.

Dorset Police said emergency services were called to Charminster Supermarket in Charminster Road shortly before 22:30 GMT to reports of an injured woman outside.

Police said the victim and the arrested men were known to each other.
