CCTV images of a bank robbery in Bournemouth in which cash was stolen have been released by police.

Police were called to reports of a robbery at HSBC on Wimborne Road shortly after 09:00 BST.

Two men in black clothing and with scarves over their faces stole a case containing money after punching a security guard. They escaped in a black car driven by an accomplice.

Police appealed for information from anyone who saw the men or the car.

The security guard received a back injury but did not need hospital treatment. No weapons are believed to have been used.

A police helicopter was initially used in the search for the men.

Det Con Karen Penn, of Bournemouth CID, said: "We know this vehicle was being driven around the Winton Banks area at about 09:13 BST and left the scene toward Moordown immediately after the incident.

"I am particularly keen to trace the black Fiesta used by the offenders and would urge anyone who sees one being driven in suspicious circumstances or abandoned in the area to please call me," she said.
