A driver is being sought by police after a market stall holder was injured when a van drove into a flower stall and carried him along on the bonnet.

Dorset Police said an altercation happened at 07:20 BST at Shaftesbury's weekly market on Thursday.

The Peugeot van reversed into a flower display, before being driven into one of the stall holders, carrying him along the road before he fell off.

The victim, in his 50s, sustained minor hip and shoulder injuries.

The van driver, who drove off down Mustons Lane, is described as being aged in his late 50s, of skinny build, tall and had a Scottish accent.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
