Blandford Forum stabbing: Three men and two women arrested

Five people have been arrested, including one for attempted murder, after a man was found in a garden bleeding from serious stab wounds.

The 20-year-old victim was discovered by Dorset Police at the rear of a garden on Victoria Road, in Blandford Forum, Dorset, at about 02:00 GMT on Saturday.

He had serious injuries to his leg and torso and was taken to Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital.

Three men and two women were arrested.

A 39-year-old man from Blandford was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and two women, aged 23 and 35 and also from Blandford, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

A 21-year-old man from Gillingham and a 24-year-old man from Blandford were arrested on suspicion of affray.

It is believed the assault took place at an address in Peel Close.

Det Insp Joe Williams said the assault may be linked to an altercation between a group of men at around 17:00 on Friday near to the Post Office on Salisbury Road.

He added: "I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident on Peel Close or anything suspicious before or after the incident in that area to contact me."
