Police search Corfe Castle woodland for missing Samantha Henderson

Police are carrying out a major search for a missing woman in an area of woodland in Dorset.

Samantha Henderson, 25, from Corfe Castle, Dorset, was reported missing just before 08:45 GMT on Thursday.

Police have until 17:00 GMT to question a 27-year-old man on suspicion of her murder.

Det Insp Neil Devoto said a team of 36 specialist officers, including a swift water search team, were involved in the operation.

The search site lies in an area off the A351 near Corfe Castle.

Officers said the man being questioned was known to Ms Henderson.

Her car, a Peugeot 307 Estate, registration HV04 ZFM, has been seized by officers.

Det Insp Devoto added: "Dorset Police would like to thank members of the public for all their assistance during this investigation.

"I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who travelled along the A351 near Corfe Castle between [Wednesday and Friday] and captured their journey on CCTV or cameras in their cabs, cars or on their motorbike or bicycle helmets."

Ms Henderson was last seen at 15:00 at Corfe Castle Primary School on 21 January.

Police have released CCTV footage of the mother-of-four taken earlier in the day.

She was spotted in The Sweet Shop in the village wearing a pink jumper or coat and light blue jeans.
