Man killed in Lyme Regis shop crash

A motorist has died after his car careered into a shop in Dorset.

Police said the man lost control of the car and hit the gift shop in Broad Street, Lyme Regis, just after 15:00 GMT on Tuesday.

The 70-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passers-by were also struck by the blue Ford Focus as it mounted the pavement. Their injuries were not believed to be serious.
