Woman seriously injured in Shaftesbury crash

A woman suffered life-threatening injuries when the car she was driving left the road.

The Peugeot 305 crashed on the B3081 between Shaftesbury and Gillingham, in Dorset, on Saturday evening.

Dorset Police said the car was thought to have overtaken at least one other vehicle before the crash.

The woman was taken to hospital where her condition was described as critical. Two male passengers were also seriously injured, police said.

The road, near Port Regis School, was closed for several hours to allow investigations to be carried out.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the green car before the crash, which happened at 19:30 GMT, to get in touch.
