Man carrying knives in Dorset 'was circus act'

A man confronted by officers for carrying knives in public was practising a circus act, police said.

The man in his 50s was approached by police by the riverbank in Throop, near Bournemouth, on Saturday afternoon.

Ch Insp Guy Shimmons said he turned out to be "in lawful possession of props used in a knife-throwing act".

Dorset Police said no criminal offence had taken place and it was taking no further action.
