Work is to begin on 134 new homes and 15 shops as part of a £100m regeneration project in Dorchester.

Brewery Square already has a cinema, hotel, restaurants, cafes, shops, a health centre and some apartments.

The development sits within the site of the old Eldridge Pope brewery, which closed in 2003.

The new apartments, penthouses and shops are expected to be built by 2015 and will create 200 jobs, the Brewery Square Development Company said.

Construction work by contractor Galliford Try is set to begin on the site in April.
