Bends diver rescued off Dorset
A diver suffering from the bends has been rescued off the coast of Dorset.
The 35-year-old man, who had been diving off Portland, was admitted to the recompression chamber in Poole on Sunday.
It comes one week after the coastguard warned divers to be careful when surfacing after four were treated for the bends within minutes of each other.
A man was rescued off West Bay and three divers became ill while diving in a quarry at Chepstow, Monmouthshire.
Portland Coastguard said it dealt with 40 cases of decompression illness in divers last year.
