Poole Roundabout crash driver arrested

A suspected drunken driver who ploughed into a number of vehicles before coming to a stop on a roundabout in Dorset has been arrested.

The 24-year-old from Poole was seen driving at speed in a silver Vauxhall Vectra near Poole Park just before 16:30 on Wednesday.

He had already crashed into several cars in Parkstone, Poole, police said.

A member of the public and an off-duty police officer held him on the Newfoundland roundabout.

He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving without a license and being drunk in charge of a vehicle.

Police, who have appealed for witnesses to come forward, said no-one was hurt.
