A body found following a fire in a caravan in Dorset is that of a woman, police have said.

Firefighters were called to Ryemead Lane, Wyke Regis, Weymouth, at 22:00 GMT on Monday. The body was discovered in the remains of the caravan.

Dorset police said they were continuing to treat the death of the woman, believed to be in her 20s, as "unexplained".

Formal identification is yet to take place, officers said.

A Dorset Fire and Rescue spokesman said a joint investigation was under way.
