Bournemouth homes evacuated due to garage fire

A fire at a commercial garage in Bournemouth led to the evacuation of nearby homes and businesses.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at in Cleveland Road, Southbourne, at 09:10 BST.

A 100m cordon was set up around the fire which involved two acetylene cylinders and an oxygen cylinder.

About a dozen commercial premises and half a dozen homes were evacuated by police. The cordon was later reduced to 25m before being lifted at 17:00 BST.
