Driver dies after A35 field crash in Dorset

A driver has died after a crash on a Dorset road.

The 62-year-old man was driving along the westbound carriageway of the A35 near Long Bredy when his car left the road and crashed into a field.

An air ambulance was called to the scene at about 1055 GMT and flew the man, who was from Exeter, to Dorchester County Hospital where he later died.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the silver-coloured Chevrolet before it left the road.
