Five injured in 13-vehicle crash on A35 in Dorset
An elderly man suffered a suspected broken ankle in a 13-vehicle pile-up involving two lorries in Dorset.
Police were called to the A35 by Litton Cheney and Long Bredy near Dorchester when the crash blocked both carriageways at about 1300 GMT.
The injured man, aged in his 70s, was taken to Dorset County Hospital along with four other people who suffered minor injuries.
Seven ambulances attended the scene along with fire crews and police.
Officers set up a number of diversions before the A35 was reopened.
Dorset fire service said no-one was trapped but a number of vehicles had to be made safe.
