Plea after North Dorset council loses data in power cut

A Dorset council lost data from members of the public when its computer system failed during a power cut.

The outage in the Blandford Forum area on Friday caused North Dorset Council's back-up generator to fail.

Data from anyone who made contact between Wednesday and Friday with a council tax or housing or council tax benefit query may have been affected.

Changes to personal details may also have been lost. The Council is asking people to contact them again.

The authority has apologised for any inconvenience this may have caused.
