New navigation signals for Poole Bridge

New navigation signals for vessels are being installed on a Dorset bridge to control the flow of marine traffic through the backwater channel.

Work to fit the cables and electrical control systems on Poole Bridge is now under way, the borough council said.

The new signals are due to become fully operational by the end of November.

The upgrade is to ensure the signals comply with the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities.
