Appeal after crash closes Dorset main road

An appeal is being made by police over a three-vehicle crash in Dorset that closed a main road.

The collision shut the A37 Dorchester to Yeovil road near Grimstone, close to the A356 Frampton turning, during Thursday evening's rush-hour.

It involved a Renault Modus, registered to a Weymouth woman, plus a Vauxhall Astra and Honda Civic registered to firms in Hampshire and Taunton.

The drivers of the Renault and Vauxhall were treated at Dorset County Hospital.

The road was closed until about 1800 GMT, while the debris was cleared from the road and the vehicles recovered.

Pc Sara Mackay said: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision, and anyone who noticed the manner of driving of any of the three vehicles prior to the collision, to contact me."
