A wind turbine at an Olympic sailing venue in Dorset has blown over in high winds.

The turbine, in the car park of the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy in Portland, collapsed early on Thursday as high winds hit the coast.

The academy, which will host the sailing events during the 2012 Olympics, said no one was injured in the incident and no cars were damaged.

The turbine was corndoned off while the area was made safe.
