Ashburton explosion fears over workshop blaze

Fire crews have brought a blaze under control which it was feared could lead to gas cylinders exploding.

Devon and Somerset Fire Service said the fire started in a workshop in woodland near Ashburton, Devon, at about 0130 GMT.

A 200m (660ft) cordon was in place as firefighters cooled one acetylene cylinder and five butane cylinders that were removed from the site.

The building was destroyed by the blaze, the fire service said.
