Wounding charge after woman stabbed in Tiverton

A man has been charged with wounding with intent after a stabbing in Devon.

A 27-year-old woman suffered a "number of significant injuries" during an attack in Tiverton on Friday.

Police were called to the old railway line in Cowleymoor at about 17:30 BST. The woman's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Gary Hopes, 44, of Authers Heights, Tiverton, appeared before Exeter magistrates and is due to appear at crown court later this month.
