Man shot in head with air pellet in Plymouth

A man in his 60s has been shot in the head with an air pellet.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the incident in Plymouth at 15:10 BST.

Following a search in nearby woods a police dog found a .22 air rifle and a 177 air rifle together with two boxes of pellets.

Police say two men aged 19 and 21 were arrested in connection with the incident.

The men are currently being detained at Charles Cross police station in Plymouth.

Police say the 60-year-old man was taken to Derriford Hospital and "his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening".
