Tens of thousands of people have gathered on Plymouth's seafront to watch the final round of the British Firework Championships.

The competition, the 17th in the city, saw six displays over two nights put on by companies from across Britain.

It was won by Star Fireworks from Bracknell, which carried out its display on Wednesday evening, the final night of the competition.

Organisers said they had expected 50,000 people to watch each evening.

No winner was crowned in the 2012 event after bad weather affected some displays.
