Sex charges against ex-Okehampton foster carer dropped

A former foster carer from Devon who denied charges of sexual offences against boys has had the case against him dropped.

David Knight was accused of abusing boys in Okehampton and Crediton between 1998 and 2006, including an 11-year-old boy and two boys under the age of 14.

Prosecutors at Exeter Crown Court said they were offering no evidence.

Judge Francis Gilbert recorded not guilty verdicts for Mr Knight, 55, of Station Road, Okehampton.

The charges had included three counts of gross indecency, causing a boy to engage in sexual activity and the sexual touching of boy.
