A large pallet fire at an industrial estate in Devon is being treated as arson, Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed.

The alarm was raised at about 02:00 BST, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.

Smoke from the fire at Heltor Business Park, near Bovey Tracey, spread to nearby homes, forcing the evacuation of several properties.

Twenty people had to be moved to safety, but no-one was injured.

A 50m (164ft) exclusion zone was put in place and at the height of the blaze, about 60 firefighters used foam and jets to tackle the fire.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
