Table tennis toddler Jamie Myska-Buddell is YouTube hit

Footage of a toddler from Plymouth playing table tennis has proved to be a smash on video-sharing website YouTube.

A clip of the 18-month-old Jamie Myska-Buddell knocking balls back to his father Kevin has attracted more than 800,000 views on the site.

Jamie was filmed showing his skills at table tennis at the Woolwell club where his father is vice chairman.

Mr Buddell made the film to send to his partner Marketa Myskova's family in the Czech Republic.

"I've no idea why it's become viral," said car hire boss Kevin, 45.

"There are a lot of young kids out there who are good at sports.

"But this has just gone completely crazy."

Jamie first showed signs of promise batting a Swingball to and fro in the dining room of his parents' house.

Mr Buddell has been batting table tennis balls to Jamie since his son was six months old.

"What we are doing is multi-ball, a repetitive practice technique."

And table tennis runs in the family - Mr Buddell's 15-year-old son is showing promise and his partner Marketa is a former champion in the Czech Republic.

"I am not a pushy parent," said Mr Buddell.

"If he wants to continue then great, but if not, fair enough."
