Newquay beach body identified as Oliver Doy

A body discovered on a beach in Newquay has been formally identified as that of missing Hampshire surfer Oliver Doy, police said.

Mr Doy, 26, from Hook, was on holiday in the Cornish resort with friends when he went missing on 7 January. He was last seen leaving a nightclub.

The body of the NHS healthcare assistant was found on Tolcarne Beach on 13 January.

Devon and Cornwall Police said Mr Doy's family had been informed.

Mr Doy had been working as a healthcare assistant after graduating from the University of Plymouth.
