Sheep to cut grass at Newton Abbot nature reserve

A sheep-grazing scheme is due to start in part of Devon

The sheep, cared for by a local farmer, will be brought in twice a year to graze on Churchills Local Nature Reserve in Newton Abbot.

Teignbridge District Council said the hillsides of Highweek provided a habitat for wildflowers and wildlife, making grass cutting difficult.

The sheep will graze the land during March and April and again in September and October.
