A Devon marketing executive used a company credit card to pay off spiralling debts to an online bingo site, a court was told.
Caroline Shopland-Saich, 40, used the card to pay off £22,620 debts with Foxy Bingo, Exeter Crown Court heard.
Shopland-Saich, of Ilfracombe, admitted fraud, was jailed for 12 months, suspended for two years, and ordered to do 200 hours' unpaid work.
The court heard that she had gone to police to confess.
Shopland-Saich was head of marketing at Barnstaple-based Applegate Media and was supposed to use the card to buy vouchers as rewards for successful sales reps.
The court heard that she used the card to pay off the debts she ran up with the site over a period of 21 months.
Judge John Neligan told her: "This started in a small way and I accept it spiralled out of control."
Bathsheba Cassel, defending, said Shopland-Saich had felt under "enormous stress" at work.
"She began to use online gambling and became addicted."
