Police break up rave in Devon woodlands

Police have broken up a rave which was being held in woodland near a north Devon town.

Officers were called to Heywood Wood at Wembworthy, near Chulmleigh, on Sunday morning by the Forestry Commission and several local residents.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they took "prompt action", taking away sound equipment and ordering revellers to leave the area.

The force has not said how many people were taking part at the site.
