Officer sniffs out drugs factory in Exeter

Police have uncovered a cannabis factory in Exeter.

An officer made the discovery in a building in the Polsloe area of the city after he smelt the drug in the air on Wednesday night, police said.

The factory was capable of producing enough cannabis to produce drugs with an estimated street value of tens of thousands of pounds, the force added.

Officers said it was a notable find and that one man had been arrested over it.

Det Sgt Grant Leitch, of Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Whoever was running this set-up has lost a serious amount of money, not only in terms of the cannabis they were growing, but also in terms of the equipment they had invested in."
