Arrests in Devon illegal worker raids

The 24 had committed offences including entering the UK illegally, overstaying visas and breaching student visa conditions, said the agency.

All those arrested are now awaiting deportation from the UK.

Owners of the businesses could be fined up to £10,000 per illegal worker unless they can prove that right-to-work checks were carried out.

There were arrests at: Naz Indian Cuisine in Teignmouth; Okehampton's Rajpoot; Rickshaw Boy in Paignton; Simla Spice, Torquay; Moghul Brasserie in Barnstaple; Spice Bazaar in Bovey Tracey; American Nails, Barnstaple; Ilfracombe's Emperor's Court; and Food4U in Plymouth.
