Woman arrested over Plymouth church fraud
A woman has been arrested over allegations of fraud after about £10,000 went missing from a Devon church.
Police are investigating the allegations which relate to St Boniface Church in Plymouth.
A woman, 47, was arrested on suspicion of fraud and released on police bail until 2 February.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the allegations related to incidents between 2005 and 2011.
Det Supt Mark Newnham said: "The matter was referred to police by the Church of England Diocese following a review by a forensic accountant.
"A financial investigation unit is looking into the matter."
A spokesman for the Diocese of Exeter said: "We are doing all we can to support the church community while the police inquiry is under way."
