Coalition gives Devon council new Lib Dem leader

A Devon district council has a new leader after the formation of a coalition including Liberal Democrats and Independent councillors.

Lib Dem Brian Greenslade is leading North Devon District Council, which was a Conservative-led authority until the elections earlier this month.

The coalition includes 14 Lib Dems and 11 Independents on the 43-seat council.

The Conservatives, who won 18 seats, are in opposition despite still being the largest party.
