Devon police helicopter joins bus chase from Exmouth

A police helicopter and squad cars trailed a bus for nearly 10 miles after it was stolen from Exmouth on Thursday night.

The chase started at 2300 GMT after the bus was taken in the town centre and headed along the A376 towards Exeter.

Police stopped the bus using a stinger as it joined the M5 at junction 30.

A 24-year-old Exeter man was arrested on suspicion of theft and drink-driving, and a 23-year-old Exmouth man was arrested on suspicion of theft.

Officers said the bus was damaged but no-one was hurt.
