Crew rescue man in Devon 'flat arson'

Fire crews forced their way in to a flat to rescue a man after a suspected arson attack in Devon.

The man was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital after the incident at the first floor flat in Kendall Street, Exeter, at about 0430 GMT.

Fire investigators found evidence of an accelerant on the front door.

Det Sgt Tim Thornton, of Exeter CID, said it was "a nasty incident which could have been a lot worse" and appealed for the public's help.
