Devon flood traps children in minibus

A group of children and adults have been rescued from a minibus caught in floodwater in Devon after parts of the county were hit by heavy rain.

Five children and two adults were trapped in 18in (45cm) of flowing water at Cullompton on Wednesday evening.

Fire crews winched the vehicle to safety with those inside unharmed.

Flood warnings remain in place at three Devon rivers, the Culm, Axe and Clyst, meaning that flooding of homes and businesses is likely.
