Plymouth driving instructor admits groping girls

A Devon driving instructor has admitted groping four young female pupils during lessons.

Former BSM teacher Barry Morgan, 58, of Heybrook Bay, Plymouth, admitted six charges of sexual assault at Plymouth Crown Court.

The court heard some of the girls were too frightened to tell their parents why they did not want more lessons.

Judge Francis Gilbert QC adjourned the case for pre-sentence reports but warned Morgan he could be jailed.

"All sentencing options will be available, including custody," he said.

The court was told the offences all took place between October 2008 and December 2009 when Morgan was a franchised instructor with BSM.

The company said Morgan was suspended immediately after the complaints were made against him and it had cooperated fully with the police and social services.

The Driving Standards Agency had also been notified, BSM added.
