Devon esplanade reopens after tidal debris removed
A stretch of seafront in Devon has reopened to the public after a high tide led to its closure when debris was strewn across the carriageway.
Eastern Esplanade in Paignton was shut for two hours - until about 1430 BST - to enable a clean-up operation to be carried out.
A spokesperson for Torbay Council said that high water, coupled with easterly winds, had resulted in the debris.
A beach tractor and a skip lorry were brought in to assist the clean-up.
