Lundy climber breaks leg in cliff fall

A climber has been airlifted to hospital after falling and breaking a leg while climbing cliffs on Lundy Island off Devon.

The emergency call to coastguards came from another climber who reported that his friend was losing a lot of blood.

The injured man was airlifted by an RAF helicopter from near the old lighthouse on the north west of the island on Saturday and taken to the mainland.

He is being treated at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple.
